Lesson 64 ( The fourth period )
一、Teaching aims and demands.
通過(guò)“對(duì)話(huà)”情景教學(xué)，復(fù)習(xí)、鞏固“問(wèn)路”及其“回答”用語(yǔ)；復(fù)習(xí)、鞏固can，may的用法。
二、Organization. Be omitted.
三、Revision.
1．Put the following into Chinese, then learn them by heart.
（把以下4類(lèi)表示地點(diǎn)的名詞譯成英語(yǔ)，并記牢。）
1) factory, farm, school, college, hospital, park, cinema, zoo;
2) train station, police station, office, post office, bus station, bus stop, toilet, men’s room, ladies room;
3) book shop, fruit shop, clothing shop, shoe shop, watch shop;
4) the People’s Hospital, the Great Wall Cinema, the East Hill School,
Jiefang Park, Xinhua Bookshop.
四、Teaching of new lesson.
1．Sum up the patterns of asking the way. (歸納“問(wèn)路”句型及應(yīng)答。)
1）回答Where’s the(nearest)…? 時(shí)，可用簡(jiǎn)單答語(yǔ)，如：
It’s in front of the…. It’s outside the…
It’s next to…. It’s over there. 等等。
2）回答Which is the way to…, please? 和How can I get to…? 等問(wèn)話(huà)時(shí)，可根據(jù)具體情況運(yùn)用以下句子組織起來(lái)使用：
Walk along this road / street. It’s about…metres from here.
Go on until you reach the end of the end of the road / street.
You’ll see the…in front of you. 等等。
2．本單元學(xué)習(xí)中還要注意may，can，maybe，may be 等的用法與區(qū)別。
3．Listening.
Listen to the tape for Lesson 64, then read after it aloud.
4．Language points. （用幻燈顯示）
1）I want to be there by eleven.
我想留在那里直到11點(diǎn)鐘。（11點(diǎn)之前我都在那里。）
by在句中意為“在……（時(shí)間）以前”，相當(dāng)于until。又如：
They can finish the work by three o’clock. 他們能在三點(diǎn)以前干完活。
2）…after her day’s shopping in Tokyo.
在她（在）東京購(gòu)物了一天之后，……
3）…She asked a man next to her. ……她問(wèn)旁邊的一個(gè)人。
4）It’s only about five minutes’ walk… 大約只有5分鐘的路程……
5）…you’ll get there just in time. ……你會(huì)及時(shí)趕到那里。
in time. “及時(shí)”，表示“不存在時(shí)間的遲早問(wèn)題”。又如：
You’re just in time for the football match. 你恰好趕上看足球賽。
They arrived here in time. 他們及時(shí)到達(dá)了。
6）…and started to make her way back to the restaurant.
……開(kāi)始往餐館走去。
（1）start to do sth. 意為“開(kāi)始做某事”，常可用begin to do sth.替換
（兩者有所區(qū)別，但現(xiàn)階段暫不要求掌握它們的區(qū)別。）
（2）make one’s way to… 往……走去。又如：
Now he made his way to school. 現(xiàn)在他往學(xué)校去了。
7）Just then, a policeman came up… 正在這時(shí)，一個(gè)警察走來(lái)了……
come up,在句中意為“走出來(lái)”，“走過(guò)來(lái)”。又如：
When the crocodile came up again, the monkey was all wet.
當(dāng)鱷魚(yú)再次升到水面上時(shí)，猴子全身都濕透了。
8）Mrs. Lee thanked the policeman for his help.
thank sb. for sth. 意為“為了某事而感謝某人”。如：
I thank for him for the book. 我感謝他（給）的這本書(shū)。
短語(yǔ)中介詞for后還常跟動(dòng)名詞（v.-ing）短語(yǔ)。又如：
We thank him for giving us the computer. 我們感謝他送了一臺(tái)電腦給我們。
9）Well , it’s easy to get lost in a big city like “Tokyo.”
在東京這樣的大城市里是很容易迷路的。
五、Design for exercises.
1．Homework:
熟讀課文，復(fù)習(xí)全單元的每點(diǎn)句型、短語(yǔ)；復(fù)習(xí)、掌握can，may的用法。完成Wb L64 Exx. 1-6；基礎(chǔ)好的同學(xué)，要求完成Ex 7的“閱讀”與寫(xiě)作。
2．Additional exercises.
